Colin Rhodes is an artist, writer and
educator. He has exhibited his work inter-
nationally. His books include Outsider Art:
Spontaneous Alternatives (2000), regarded as
one of the classic texts in the field, Primitivism
and Modern Art (1994), and The World
According to Roger Ballen (2019). He was
educated at Goldsmiths London University
and the University of Essex. He is Contributing
Editor for Raw Vision and Distinguished
Professor of Art and Xiaoxiang Scholar at
Hunan Normal University, China.
